Clay Poker Chips

The term, ‘clay poker chips’, is often an area for confusion amongst any level of poker player. There are so many manufacturers of cheap poker chips using the word clay as a buzz word to attract attention to their chips, that it seems half the chips out there are formed of clay. Clearly this is not the case. The vast majority of poker chips produced around the world are plastic. Most manufacturers and retailers will avoid the word plastic in their descriptions altogether, or simply make up new terminology to confuse the customer. ABS clay composite and injection moulded are some of our favourites, yet the basic fact is these are plastic poker chips.
Then we have to identify which chips are ceramic and which are clay. Clay poker chips are the upscale chip variety, with ceramic chips coming in a close second. Ceramic chips are nearly always the chips you will see customized. Search for custom poker chips on the net, and you will find a host of suppliers (one of them us) who offer to customize a ceramic chip base with any design you want.
