Poker Chip & Poker Table Sales Soar

As the economic turndown hits us all, it is encouraging to see that sales of poker chips, poker tables and playing cards are not dropping. Instead, custom poker chip sales have soared over the Christmas season and so far, steadily into 2009.
This is probably because as going out gets more expensive in relation to people’s incomes (or in relation to their fears about the economic circumstances), a night in at the home poker table with friends, some food and beers does not sound like a bad prospect for many. You don’t have to put much money on the poker table to have a great evening in with your poker chips, and in fact many of our customers play for a mere £2. Get ten poker players together and you have a nice first place prize of £20!
A contrary argument is that as people become more and more fearful for their own economic positions, they are turning to gambling as a last resort. We have seen no evidence of this and if anyone views poker as an easy get out then please think again. Poker is a game of skill and chance, not just chance. Becoming a good poker player takes years of practice and hard work (and getting years of professional poker game play under your belt). Poker should not be played by vulnerable individuals and we do our best here at Personalpokerchip to ensure we create the right message about the great game of poker.
